The Machine Design process required for conventional engines has evolved through time since early 20th century and is a streamlined process. The design variables which influence the makeup and performance of engines is widely studied and the design process is standardised as a sequential flow of with a number of design modules.

The RVCR concept is entirely new and the equivalent design modules are not available and this was overcome by gyatk, in-house, by devising new mathematical models in component cum mechanism design.

The design process is started from scratch with thermodynamic calculations followed by component geometry formulation, computer modelling of components, their assembly and kinematics, subsequently this resulted in manufacture, assembly and trials which completes R&D aspect of Product design and the gains are listed below.

This required a number of iterations to locate and solve the kinematics fine print of the RVCR mechanism. The unique gains here is that today gyatk has identified, classified and tabulated base design modules which integrate in to a streamlined design and manufacture system for fast turn around time of engine development and manufacture, for varied application.

The manufacturing and metal processing was carried out by network of Vendors for requisite operations and this out sourcing brought in the knowledge of manufacturing techniques, the machinery and tooling requirements and thence the basis for manufacturing cost optimisation.

The experience with component mating and assembly operations helped in minimising and standardising procedures involved and more importantly, it helped in shaping mechanised assembly ideas and combining components to reduce numbers and define better closure constraints of RVCR mechanism links. The whole process also helped optimise on standardised consumables for cost and also lead to base time motion optimisation equations.
